Amy L. Vogt, 38, of Albers, died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Terrace on the Park in Mascoutah. She was born March 23, 1973 in Highland, daughter of Paul and Rita (Schaefer) Thole. She married Nelson J. Vogt, Jr. on June 20, 1998 in St. Rose and he survives in Albers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Paul and Rita Thole of St. Rose; a son, Fletcher Vogt of Albers; two sisters, Elaine (Jared) Fenton of Highland and Nancy (Rob) Rolves of Albers; a brother, Kurt (Justine) Thole of St. Rose; her mother-in-law, Dollie Vogt of Waterloo; two sisters-in-law, Sandra (Jerry) Menees of Millstadt and Susan Vogt of Waterloo; she is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by and her grandparents, William and Bertha (Hilmes) Thole and Henry "Jim" and Theresa (Heimann) Schaefer; step-grandmother, Vera (Richter) Schaefer; father-in-law, Nelson J. Vogt, Sr. and a sister-in-law, Cindy Vogt. Mrs. Vogt was a social worker for Barnes Jewish Hospital and later the American Red Cross. She was a graduate of Breese Central High School class of 1991 and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree class of 1996. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish in Albers and a former member of the Breese Jaycees. She enjoyed camping, swimming, fishing and just being outdoors, but after her son, Fletcher, was born on October 1, 2003 more than anything else she enjoyed being a mother. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Rev. Jack Joyce officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. There will be a prayer service at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association, St. Louis Regional Chapter 2258 Weldon Parkway St. Louis, MO 63146 and will be received at the funeral home.
