John A. “Pixie” Von Alst, 62, of Breese, died Friday, February 6, 2015 at his home. He was born November 29, 1952 in Breese, son of Melvin L. and Estelle A. “Dolly” (Hacker) Von Alst. He married Barbara Becker on June 17, 1978 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and she survives in Breese. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Robbie Von Alst of Breese, Brad (Jessica Gebke) Von Alst of Germantown, and Cassie Von Alst and Shelby Von Alst of Breese; a granddaughter, Kailey Von Alst; siblings, Pat (Peter) Ofstedal of Breese and Jan (Jim) Broniec of Highland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George (Gay) Zurliene, Margaret (Roger) Foppe, John (Nancy Nettemeier) Becker, Charles Becker, James (Marcia) Becker, and Julia (Phil) Becker all of Breese, and Alicia (Kermit) Smith of Houston, TX; and he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael “Pix” Von Alst; and a sister, Sharon Zurliene. Mr. Von Alst was a bricklayer for 38 years for Joseph F. Becker Brickwork in Breese.
