Michael "Pix" Von Alst, 43, of Breese, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born December 18, 1962 in Breese, son of Melvin L. and Estelle A. "Dolly" (Hacker) Von Alst. He is survived by one brother, John Von Alst and wife Barb of Breese; two sisters, Pat Ofstedal and husband Peter of Breese and Jan Broniec and husband Jim of Highland; a brother-in-law, George Zurliene and wife Gay of Breese; his aunts and uncles, Marcie and Rich Hacker, Mary and John Kampwerth, Joe and June Hacker, Doris and Bill Tadlock, Loretta and Joe Trevelline, Joyce Hacker, and Alvin Hacker; his nieces and nephews, Kristin Fonseca, Blake Ofstedal, Alexandra Ofstedal, Angie (Don) Ohl, Jill (Tim) Morthland, Shelly (Sean) Snedeker, Robbie Von Alst, Bradley Von Alst, Cassie Von Alst, Shelby Von Alst, Trish (Mike) Weilmuenster, Eric Zurliene, Craig (Shelise) Zurliene, Tom Zurliene; also survived by great nieces and great nephews; his dear friends, Curt Hemann, Al Hueslmann, Chuck Voss, Kevin and Mike Jansen, Vance Woods, Jamie and Mark Olliges, Ron Schadegg, Hilmer Mueller, and many other very special friends and caretakers. In addition to his parents, a sister, Sharon Zurliene, and aunts and uncles preceded him in death. Mike was a member of St. Dominic Parish, the Breese Knights of Columbus, Council #2869 and the Breese Jaycees. He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1981. He loved gardening, Clinton County Baseball, fishing and painting. He was an inspiration to all he met. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2006 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Pat Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006 and from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. & the Breese Jaycees will visit at 7:30 Thursday at the funeral home.
