Wallace F. "Wally" McDuffey

Wallace F. “Wally” McDuffey, age 82, of Shattuc passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 18, 1939, the son of Francis and Jeanette (Fehrmann) McDuffey. He married Joan Niemeyer and she survives in Shattuc.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Ronald McDuffey and wife Tami of Desoto, MO, Greg McDuffey and wife Debbie of Hazelwood, MO, Christine McDuffey of Carlyle, and Wallace C. McDuffey and wife Lynn of Shattuc; grandchildren: Amber McDuffey, Tamara King, Tim McDuffey, Lily McDuffey, Michelle Haller and husband Kelly, Rachel McDuffey, Sarah McDuffey, and Wallace McDuffey III; great-grandchildren: Emma and Elyssa Haller; his siblings: Thomas McDuffey and wife Della “Cookie”, Michael McDuffey and wife Michele “Mickey”, Kathy Steele and husband Gordon; brother-in-law: Donald Niemeyer and wife Sandy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, father, and sister, Georgian Byrd and husband Clifford.
Wally was a veteran of the United States Navy, and he spent his time in the service aboard the USS Bryce Canyon. He was a fan of auto racing and particularly midget car racing. Wally raced Midget racecars throughout the midwest and east coast with S.L.A.R.A., NAMARS, and USAC, always wearing his red cowboy hat that he was known for. He passed along his love of racing to his family and always helped them with their cars. Wally has many hours of video footage that he loved to record, everything from family events to backyard races. He was a member of the Moolah Shrine, Gateway 500, and Yomo Units, and the Roadants Club. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

In keeping with Mr. McDuffey’s wishes there will be no funeral services held.
