Ruth Ann Warnecke, 87, of Breese, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. She was born February 21, 1926 in Aviston, daughter of Fred and Leona B. (Vollet) Lohman, Sr. She married Cornelius “Bud” Warnecke November 26, 1946 in Aviston and he preceded her in death September 9, 1994. Ruth is survived by her children, Philip (Gayle) Warnecke of Carlyle, Mark Warnecke of Carbondale, Julia (Lou) Groth of Hacketstown, NJ, Anita (Marty) Seger and Lisa (James) Schlarman all of Carlyle, and Nancy (Jeff) Wolters of Trenton; a daughter-in-law, Darlene (David) Roehl of North Dakota; 10 grandchildren, Joe (Laurel) Lange, Jon (Janine) Lange, Brian (Carrie) Warnecke, Steven (Sami Jo) Warnecke, Benjamin (Kimberly) Schlarman, Kelsey Schlarman, Nicholas (Shannon) Warnecke, Adam (Carrie) Warnecke, Holly Wolters, and Catherine Wolters; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Terry (Cathy) Lohman of Trenton; two sisters, Virginia Kreiter and Clare Hustedde both of Breese; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Lohman of Cincinnati, OH and Jackie Warnecke of Phoenix, AZ; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Warnecke; a grandson, Justin Lange; a brother, Fred Lohman, Jr.; two sisters, Angela Richardson and Mary Haynes; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Melvin Kreiter, Jerome Hustedde, Francis Richardson, Joseph Haynes, Mary Louise & Bill Cahalin, Victor Warnecke, Virgil & Marie Warnecke, Charles Warnecke, and John Chester. Mrs. Warnecke sold real estate with her husband for many years and was also a receptionist for the Breese Veterinary Service. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish, member and past president of the Altar Sodality and volunteered for many parish functions. She was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718. Ruth was a loving housewife and mother who loved to spend time with family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid gardener. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home.
