Wayne Alan Cornick

Wayne A. Cornick, age 74, of Carlyle, Illinois, passed away on January 24, 2025, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville, Illinois. He was born on May 7, 1950, in Rolla, Missouri, to George E. and Alice L. Cornick. Wayne married his beloved wife, Martha McFarlin-Patterson, in Alton on March 2, 2024.

Wayne is survived by his wife Martha and a network of cherished lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Phil Cornick.

A proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy, Wayne was a dedicated member of the Germantown American Legion. His passion for motorcycles and the sense of freedom they provided was evident throughout his life. He was an active member of the ABATE of Illinois Piasa-Gateway Chapter, where he was honored with the 2023 Rich Neb Award. Additionally, he served as the former ABATE of Illinois Southwest Region Coordinator.

A celebration of Wayne's life will be scheduled at a later date. In honor of his memory, memorial contributions may be made to ABATE of Illinois and can be sent to Nordike Funeral Home, located at 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.

Wayne's legacy of love and friendship will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
