Wayne Jerome Furman

Wayne Jerome Furman, 79, of Breese, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at his home. He was born November 15, 1943 in Rochelle, IL, the son of Wendell and Hiskea “Carrie” nee Harms, Furman. He married Connie Gochee August 15, 1964 in Lee, IL and she survives in Breese.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Robert, Steven, and Carmen; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his siblings, Kay, Loren (Ruth), and Wendell.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Keith, Curtis, Rita, Doris, Joyce, and Carol.

Mr. Furman was a veteran of the United States Air Force and then worked as a lab technician at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese for over 43 years. Wayne was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He loved to play golf.

All services will be private.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 150 N. Clinton St., Breese, IL 62230 who is serving the family.
