Paul O. Weilmuenster, 82, of New Baden, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden. He was born July 16, 1929 in Darmstadt, son of Carl and Leona (Swanner) Weilmuenster. He married Jennie K. Henson on September 18, 1962 in East St. Louis and she survives in New Baden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Paul J. (Debbie) Weilmuenster of Catlin, Robert L. (Lori) Weilmuenster of Belleville, John E. (Elona) Weilmuenster of O’Fallon, Jesse C. (Russell Ball) Weilmuenster of St. Louis, MO, and Shirley A. (Mark) Tyra of New Baden; seven grandchildren, Sara (Mark) Pitts, Michelle (William) Fank, Cassandra (Adam) Brown, Brian Weilmuenster, Christopher Tyra, Kirk Weilmuenster, and Kylie Weilmuenster; five great-grandchildren, Marshall Pitts, Meredith Pitts, Lucy Pitts, Addison Brown and Payton Brown; two sisters, Mary (Ralph) Eilermann of New Baden, Angeline Weilmuenster of Belleville and a brother, Henry "Hank" (Rose) Weilmuenster of Belleville; and sisters-in-law, Irene Henson of Los Angeles, CA and Helen Flemming of New Athens. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard A. Weilmuenster, in infancy; four brothers, his twin brother, John, in infancy, Oscar, Charlie and Joe Weilmuenster; a sister, Leona Weilmuenster; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary and John Winn, Jesse Henson Jr., David Henson, Willadean and John Nolan and Elva Weilmuenster. Mr. Weilmuenster was retired from the Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, MO. He was an Illinois National Guard veteran and a member of the UAW- Ford Motor Co. in Hazelwood, MO. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Pastor Dave Manley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to Family Hospice of Southern Illinois or Clinton Manor Activity Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
