Wellingh

Allen Eugene Wellinghoff, 58, of Collinsville, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at his home. He was born July 24, 1950 in Breese, son of Alois and Verena (Schmidt) Wellinghoff. He married Rita Thackrey on August 1, 1975 in Belleville and she survives in Collinsville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nevalea Wellinghoff of Troy and Arley Wellinghoff of O’Fallon; a brother, Lester (Debbie) Wellinghoff of Columbia; two sisters, Ruth (Ken)Woolcutt of Kewanee and Arlene Emmons of Belleville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger & Karen Thackrey of Atlanta, GA and Trudy & Dan Irvine of Cape Girardeau, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sarah Wellinghoff; two brothers, Ralph Wellinghoff and Clifford Wellinghoff in infancy. Mr. Wellinghoff was a millwright maintenance foreman at SCI in Madison. Allen grew up in New Baden and was a graduate of Wesclin High School. A memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 presided by Larry Thoeming, a friend of the family at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Partners for Pets and will be received at the funeral home.
