Mary Louise Wheeler, 79, of Trenton, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at her daughter’s home in Trenton. She was born January 28, 1927 in Newton County, GA, daughter of Everette Elra and Willie Grace (Singley) Henderson. She married John T. Wheeler on May 18, 1946 and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1992. She is survived by a son, John William Wheeler and wife Lin of Kenai, Alaska, two daughters, Angie Zahn and husband Bob of Trenton, and Dorothy Wilken and husband Gary of New Baden; six grandchildren Richard John Wheeler and Gary Michael Wheeler, Joel Robert Zahn and wife Stephanie, Jennifer Zahn, Sara Grace Wilken and Alex George Wilken; two great grandchildren, Christy Wheeler and Jacob Joel Zahn; four brothers, Cecil William Henderson of Jackson, GA, Herman Howell Henderson of Locust Grove, GA, Carlton Ralph Henderson of Jackson, GA, and Nathan Henderson of Stockbridge, GA and three sisters, Betty Frances Lumsden of Jonesboro, GA, Ophelia Davenport of Covington, GA and Rachel Marie Butler of Locust Grove, GA. In addition to her parents, and her husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, June Louise Wheeler and one brother, John Elra Henderson. Mrs. Wheeler was a retired clerk at Southern Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Trenton, United Methodist Women and Telephone Pioneers of America of Centralia. There will be a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Trenton in Trenton with Rev. Debbie Melzer officiating. Burial will follow at Trenton Cemetery in Trenton. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2006 and from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Trenton in Trenton. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church Building Fund or Girl Scouts of River Bluff Council or Heartland Hospice and will be received at the church or Hempen Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
