Wier, Coreen Garrity

Coreen Garrity Wier, 34, of New Baden and formerly of Fairview Heights, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL. She was born March 20, 1979 in Denton, TX, daughter of Jack I. and Julie M. (Kennett) Wier. Coreen is survived by her parents, Jack I. & Julie M. Wier of Fairview Heights, IL; her grandmother, Virginia Kennett of New Baden, IL; a sister, Katey (Ron) Riesing of Waterloo, IL; four brothers, Jack Aaron (Trina) Wier of Lewis Center, OH, Joe (Sherry) Wier of Wildwood, MO, Ben Wier of Belleville, IL, and Dominic Wier of Nashville, TN; four nieces, Ashley, Amy, Brianna, and Isabella; four nephews, Alex, Andrew, Jack Dean, and Lincoln; aunts and uncles, Colette Kennett, Bonnie & Rollie Brave, Patrick & Marsha Kennett, Dave & Carol Wier, Dennis Wier & Pam Wier, Sissy & Richard Brenn, and Suzette & Michael Kunz; she is also survived by numerous cousins, extended family, friends, and her Clinton Manor family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Franklin Kennett, and Jack & Betty Jane Wier; an aunt, Carol Karban; and two cousins, Denis C. Wier, Jr. and Shane Wier. Ms. Wier was a graduate of Belleville East. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Fairview Heights. Coreen was the comedy relief at Clinton Manor. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Deacon Dennis Rickert officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to Clinton Manor Activity Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
