Wilhelmine P. Koch, age 81, of Carlyle passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis. Wilhelmine was born in Neuss, Germany on January 17, 1935 the daughter of Peter and Katharina (Becker) Scholzen. She married Albert Koch on June 18, 1955 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2016.
Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Koch was preceded in death by her daughters Darla Koch and Christa Kochl; a sister, Kaithe Beckert; a brother Jakob Scholzen and wife Anneliese; and her brother-in-law, Dieter Fuecker.
Mrs. Koch is survived by her daughter, Marlo Nachtweih and husband Steven of St. Louis; her son Kevin Koch of Belleville; and Oma’s little chicks, her grandsons Seth and Benjamin Koch; as well as two brothers: Winfried Scholzen and Herbert Scholzen; two sisters: Margret Holzenleuchter and husband Hans Peter, and Rosi Fuecker; her brother-in-law, Winfied Beckert; and special niece and great-nephew, Barbara and Kerim Askoy.
Wilhelmine was a homemaker and enjoyed hand crafts such as knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She spent many days in the garden and tending to all of her flowers.
In keeping with Wilhelmine’s wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be made in honor of Mrs. Koch are suggested to the DeGreeff Hospice House at St. Anthony’s Hospital and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
