Mr. Ackmann was a farmer and proud of it. He enjoyed visiting the farm often. He was a member of the Centralia Shrine Club and the Ben Kadem Motor Patrol and the Scott Masonic Lodge #79 of Carlyle.
As a young man he learned the value of hard work while farming and raising cattle and sheep. He also traveled the United States showing sheep and earned hundreds of trophies and ribbons for his efforts. He taught us many life lessons and was very patient when it took us a few times to get them to take hold. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Keith Michaels officiating. The interment will follow at Carlyle Township Cemetery.
