William “Goody” Alvin Goldsmith

William “Goody” Alvin Goldsmith, 92, lifelong resident of Huey IL, died October 24, 2009. He was born May 3, 1917 in Huey, son of John Lloyd and Mathilda Louise Spilker Goldsmith. He married Virginia Hammel on June 9, 1940, and she preceded him in death on June 17 1988.Bill is survived by three daughters: Janice Donaldson of Chesterfield, Mo, Mary Ellen Isaak Etter and husband Jim of Carlyle, Brenda Young and husband John of Bismarck Il; three grandsons: Michael Isaak of California, Jonathon Ferguson of Texas, and Sean Ferguson of Switzerland;7 great-grandchildren: Paige and Jessica Isaak, Tyler, Madison, Daniel, Connor and Jillian Ferguson.He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 1 sister, and his son-in-law Ed Donaldson.Bill worked as an oil driller and plumber for T.M. Conrey. He was a volunteer fireman for many years and served on Huey’s Town Board.Funeral Service will be held at the Frerker Funeral Home on Wednesday October 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at McKendree Chapel Cemetery in Keyesport.Visitation will be Tuesday October 27, 2009 from 5-8:00 PM and on Wednesday October 28, 2009 from 8:00 - 9:30 AM at the funeral home.Expressions of sympathy may be left to Bill’s family by visitingwww.frerkerfuneral.comMemorial may be made in Bill’s honor to the American Cancer Society and to the Huey Methodist Church and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.William “Goody” Alvin Goldsmith, 92, lifelong resident of Huey IL, died October 24, 2009.
