William "Bill" Clyde Short, 64, of Carlyle entered into rest Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Barnes/Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on March 20, 1947 in Breese the son of Clyde Edison and Edith Elizabeth (Simms) Short. He married Starr Mollet-Organ on June 14, 1993 in Farmersville, Texas.
Bill is survived by his wife: Starr Short of Huey; his daughter: Keshia Short of Huey; a son: Casey Short of Huey; his mother: Edith Short of Carlyle; sisters: Barbara Placek and husband Jack of Beckemeyer, Margie Taylor of Carlyle; and Edna Nalefski and husband Dick of Breese; step children: Kyle Mollet and wife Jacqueline of Carlyle, Christopher Mollet and fiancee` Kelsey of Carlyle; parents-in-law: Ruby and Jerry Watson of Salem; sisters-in-law: Tara and Dr. Andrew DeWitt of Salem, Aletha and Rick Conroy of Centralia; brothers-in-law: Kevin Organ of Vandalia and Curt and Jennifer Organ of Kentucky.; step-brothers-in-law: Mike Watson and wife Debbie of Centralia, Tom Watson & wife Sherrie of Altamont. And many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his father and brothers-in-law Charlie Taylor and Bill Burnett.
Bill was a worked as a bartender at various establishments throughout Carlyle, he was also laborer. He cherished every moment he spent faithfully attending his children’s soccer, swim team, basketball and baseball events. He was also an avid racing enthusiast.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Dr. Andrew DeWitt officiating. The interment will follow at Carlyle Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M.
