Joseph E. Willyerd, 65, of New Baden, IL died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, IL. He was born November 24, 1942, in Anna, IL son of Ernest and Wanda L. (Edwards) Willyerd. He married Judy C. Twardoski April 20, 1968 in Washington Park, IL and she survives in New Baden, IL. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Pam (Brant) Therion of Okawville, IL, one son, Don Willyerd of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Brandon Therion and Jeremy Willyerd; two sisters, Sharon Kearbey of Poplar Bluff, MO and Jean (Derek) Welty of Belleville, IL; three brothers, Fred (Teri) Schweer of O’Fallon, IL, Kenneth Schweer and Eugene Schweer both of Phoenix, AZ; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Irene Henson of Long Beach, CA, Paul Twardoski, Barbara & "Buddy" McNatt all of Washington Park, IL, Dorothy Frawley of Belleville, IL, Bobby & Janice Twardoski of Mascoutah, IL, Jim Twardoski of Swansea, IL and Ricky Twardoski of Key West, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, George "Red" Kearbey, Frank Frawley and Sonny Twardoski; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Pauline Twardosk i. Mr. Willyerd was a retired union roofer. He was a member of Local 2 Roofer Union of St. Louis, MO. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, IL with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
