Joseph M. “Joe” Wilson, 64, of New Baden, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at his home. He was born August 2, 1945 in Henderson, KY, son of Russell and Cecelia (Grant) Wilson. He married Jacqueline “Jackie” Minton on May 2, 1976 in Fairview Heights and she survives in New Baden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Donise Davis of Chicago, Deni Pogue of Donnelson, & Jodie Matheis of New Baden; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, David Wilson, Jim (Faye) Wilson, Bill (Sondra) Wilson, Mike (Jackie) Wilson, all of Henderson, KY; a sister-in-law, Doyce (Adam) Fiore of Fairview Heights; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Wilson was an electrician and also owned Wilson Piano & Organ. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam era. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Rev. Curtis Gilbert officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
