John J. "Johnny" Winkler, 82, of Germantown, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. He was born March 23, 1925 in Germantown, son of John C. and Clara T. (Brueggemann) Winkler. He is survived by one brother, Joe Winkler and two sisters, Mary C. Eversgerd and Agnes Hermeling and special friend Paul Jansen all of Germantown; nieces and nephews, Gerri and Jim Haar of Germantown, Mary Jane and Mark Schrage of St. Rose, Barb and Joe Eilers of Breese, Patty Winkler of Houston, TX, Nancy and Gerald Huelsmann of Breese, and Brenda Winkler and special friend Rob Kuhl of Albers; he is also survived by many great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Bernard B. Eversgerd and George Hermeling, a sister-in-law, Helen Winkler and a niece, Karen Winkler. Mr. Winkler was a farmer and a janitor at Motomart. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish in Germantown. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Msgr. James A. Buerster officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese and from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul, the Germantown Fire Department or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home and the church.
